About Library

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute Library established in 1978 as a Public library under the GR no. UTC- 1078 A / D- 25. The Institute library has a rich collection of around 10000 books, which includes Social Justice based on Dalita Sahitya, Political Science, Economics, Literature, Law and Justice, reference books, journals and Government Documents: Rules, Annual Reports, Manuals, Handbooks and Various Committee Reports etc., Competitive exams like M. P. S. C./ U. P. S. C., Banking Exams, Railway Recruitment and all other Government Exams. the library subscribes popular magazines and daily newspapers. The Institute library also has a membership of certain other libraries in the city and government officers/ BART staff can avail of the facilities of these other libraries Library is full computerized from year 2016 with its OPAC accessible

शासन निर्णय, समाज कल्याण, सांस्कृतिक कार्य व क्रिडा विभाग क्रमांक UTA-1078/D-XXV दि.22/12/1978 अन्वये डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या “सामाजिक समता” या विषयावर सखोल अभ्यास करण्यासाठी डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर संशोधन व प्रशिक्षण संस्था दि.19/03/1979 पासून सुरू केली आहे. या संस्थेमार्फत सामाजिक समतेच्या तत्वांचा प्रसार तसेच सामाजिक क्षेत्राात मुलभूत संशोधन व्हावे असे अपेक्षित आहे. संस्थेने निर्भयपणे व परिणामकारक विविध उपक्रम राबविण्यासाठी सन 2008 पासून स्वायत्त संस्था म्हणून शासनाने मान्यता दिली आहे. संस्थेच्या नियामक मंडळाच्या मान्यतेने शासनाने विहित केलेल्या उद्दिष्ट पूर्तीसाठी समाजात जनजागृती व प्रबोधन करण्यासाठी जाती-भेद निर्मूलन, सामाजिक न्याय, समता, सांप्रदायिक सद्भावना व सहिष्णुता, अंधश्रद्धा निर्मूलन, वैज्ञानिक जाणीव जागृती, बंधुत्व व मानवता इत्यादी तत्त्वे समाजात रूजविण्यासाठी संस्थेकडून विविध नाविन्यपूर्ण उपक्रम राबविले जात आहेत. संस्थेच्या उद्दिष्टांची पूर्तता करण्यासाठी आवश्यक ती पुस्तके उपलब्ध करून देण्याच्या दृष्टीने ग्रंथालयाची निर्मिती करण्यात आली आहे.
ग्रंथालयात सामाजिक शास्त्र या विषयांतर्गत विविध थोर समाजसुधारकांच्या विचारांची तसेच बौद्ध धर्म, पाली भाषा, प्रशासन, अध्यात्मिक, व्यक्तिमत्त्व विकास, विपश्यना, अंधश्रद्धा, आदिवासी समाज, अनुसूचित जाती-जमाती, महिलांविषयक, समिक्षात्मक साहित्य, कायदा, आरोग्य, संदर्भ ग्रंथ - शब्दकोश, मराठी विश्वकोश, भारतीय संस्कृतिकोश, पदनाम कोश, जिल्हा गॅझेटिअर, कृषीशास्त्र, कला, कथा-कादंबरी, चरित्र-आत्मचरित्र, लेखसंग्रह अशा विविध विषयांवर नामवंत लेखकांनी लिहिलेल्या पुस्तकांचा समावेश आहे. सध्या ग्रंथालयात मराठी व इंग्रजी भाषेतील मिळून सुमारे 10 हजार पुस्तके आहेत. विविध विषयावरील महत्वपूर्ण नियतकालिके ग्रंथालयात उपलब्ध आहेत. अनुसूचित जाती प्रमाणपत्र पडताळणी, संशोधन अहवाल, मुल्यांकन अहवाल तयार करण्यासाठी या ग्रंथालयाचा संदर्भ ग्रंथालय म्हणून वापर केला जातो. महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या सामाजिक न्याय विभागांतर्गत पुणे शहरातील मागासवर्गीय वसतीगृहातील विदयार्थ्यांना तसेच इतर मागासवर्गीय विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबरच सर्वांना अभ्यासाकरिता निशुल्क सेवा उपलब्ध करुन दिली जाते. स्पर्धा परिक्षेची पुर्व तयारी करणारे एम.पी.एस.सी/ यु.पी.एस.सी तसेच बँकींग,एमकेसीएल व इतर स्पर्धा परिक्षेची पूर्व तयारी करणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबरच एम.फील व पी.एच.डी. साठी संशोधन करणारे विदयार्थी ग्रंथालयाचा उपयोग करतात. डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर संशोधन व प्रशिक्षण संस्था, पुणे येथील ग्रंथालयाचा अनेक विदयार्थ्यांनी आतापर्यंत लाभ घेतला असून काही विद्यार्थी स्पर्धा परिक्षेमध्ये उर्त्तीण होऊन शासकीय व निमशासकीय कार्यालयामध्ये विविध पदावर कार्यरत आहेत.
सन 2016 पासून ग्रंथालय संपुर्ण संगणकीकृत करण्यात आले असून

ग्रंथालयामार्फत Library Membership, Book Issue-Return, Newspaper, Reference, Periodical, Internet, Reading Hall, Library OPAC इत्यादी सेवा दिल्या जातात.
Library Guest Membership: Guest Faculty/Government officer/Retired officers/Researchers/Ex-BARTI faculty & Staff/Ex-deputation faculty इ. ना सशुल्क सभासदत्वामध्ये (Guest Membership) मासिक वर्गणी रूपये 100/- व अनामत रक्कम रूपये 1000/- तसेच वार्षिक वर्गणी एकत्रित भरल्यास रु.1200/- होतात त्यामध्ये रू.200/- सवलत देवून 2 पुस्तके एक महिन्याच्या कालावधीसाठी सभासदाला घरी वाचनासाठी दिली जातात.
Library Reading Room Membership: ग्रंथालयात अभ्यासाकरीता बसण्यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांना वाचनालयाची सुविधा सशुल्क रु.100/- मासिक वर्गणी रु.500/- अनामत रक्कम तसेच वार्षिक वर्गणी एकत्रित भरल्यास रु.1200/- होतात त्यामध्ये रू.200/- सवलत देवून संदर्भासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांना अभ्यासिकेतच पुस्तके वाचनासाठी दिली जातात.

Library Rules: MEMBERSHIP RULES FOR BARTI LIBRARY
Library Timeing
Monday To Friday, Saturday (1st, 3rd, 5th) 10.00 am To 6.13 pm
(Holidays on 2nd & 4th Saturday, Sundays & Public Holidays)
1. Guest Faculty/Government officer/Retired officers/Researchers/Ex-BARTI faculty & Staff/Ex-deputation faculty etc. also can, with prior written permission from the OIC, Library become members.
2. Members will have submit 2 Pass Port Size Photograph, as Identity Proofs Aadhr Card/Passport/
Driving License etc. along with the application form.
3.Every member are requested to put their signature on the visitors register at the time of entry and leave their belonging such as bags, files, books etc., at their own risk, near the entry counter.
4.Only two Books will be issued at a time will be issued for a period of 1 Month. Reference Material or latest issue of Journals will not be allowed outside the library premises.
5.If may member desires to discontinue his/her membership, His/her will have to submit the deposit receipt along with the application form. There after the member has to return all borrowed material and deposit membership card to the library office. An amount of Rs.25/- will be deducted from the deposit if receipt is not available.
6.Every member should observe strict silence in the Library.
7.Every member selecting books from the shelves when not required, please hand over the same to the employee present at library to place the same in proper shelf.
8.Please note, the library premises is not a place for discussion, talk or any kind of entertainment for the visitors.
9.Reading facility and membership right claim decision of any member with the Director General, Barti
10.Newspapers, magazines and journals should be kept on proper place after its use.
11.Growth of library depends upon member’s good habits, such as while reading.

ii)do not mark with highlighter etc.
iii)do not tear out pages
iv)do not scribble with pen or pencil
v)do not underline the matter
vi)do not inserts pins, clips etc.
vii)do not damage any binding of books
12.In case of loss/theft of membership card, please intimate in writing with details.
13.In case of loss/theft duplicate card will be issued at cost decided by the institution from time to time.
14.Eatable snacks etc. of any kind is strictly not allowed in the premise of the library
15.Please, do not disturb others with mobile, so it is better to switch off while in the library
16.Any damage, disfigurement, loss in any form to the property of library shall be recovered from the member as when decided by the authorities.
