The college libraries play a vital role in strengthening academic, research and extension mission of the College. It facilitates as source base for dissemination of knowledge.

Government First Grade College, Ankola has given key prominence to the development of the library facilities with its minimal resources. The library holds good print collection of books, periodicals, maps and subject encyclopaedias. The Information Center provides an access to N-LIST, An Initiative of MHRD as College Component of e-ShodhSindhu Consortium with access to 6000+ journals, 1,64,300+ ebooks. Library also provides an interface to access to freely available e-books, e-journals

ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಸ್ತರಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಭಂಡಾರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಅಂಕೋಲಾದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ತನ್ನ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು, ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕಗಳು, ನಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಯ ವಿಶ್ವಕೋಶಗಳ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮುದ್ರಣ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು 6000+ ಜರ್ನಲ್‌ಗಳು, 1,64,300+ ಇಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಇ-ಶೋಧ್ ಸಿಂಧು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಘಟಕವಾಗಿ ಎಂಎಚ್‌ಆರ್‌ಡಿಯ ಇನಿಶಿಯೇಟಿವ್ ಎನ್-ಲಿಸ್ಟ್‌ಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವ ಇ-ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು, ಇ-ಜರ್ನಲ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಒಂದು ಇಂಟರ್ಫೇಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸಹ ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಅದರ ಪ್ರವೇಶ, ವಿತರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಳಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲು ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ಓದುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಲು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಮಾಜದ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದು.
ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಪಾಲುದಾರರಾಗುವುದು.

Government First Grade College Ankola, came into being in the year 2007 to offer formal education to the underprivileged and poor students at their door steps almost at zero cost. As on today, the college offers graduation in the faculty of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management. A feather of MA in Economics has decorated its crown from 2015-16. The college edifice is located at outskirts of the city on a hill top amidst lush green paddy fields providing an ideal academic environment free from maddening vehicular traffic and crowd. Library and Information Centre help and engage the students for necessary enhancement of reading in order to increase their reading habits.

Library Rules: The Library is primarily meant for students and faculty members of the college. The outsiders from other university/ institution may be allowed only with the written prior permission of the Librarian and a Principal for a limited period, however, outsiders have to consult the resources within the premises of the library.
• Readers and visitors have to deposit their belongings in the property counter outside the library.
• Silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library by all users.
• Every one shall ensure that no reader should feel disturbed in their study by any act of his/her.
• Reference Service is provided to the users against the deposit of college identity card. Users are requested to return the books/documents after reference.
• Book issued to the users is strictly prohibited in the library premise unless for returning.
• Photocopying of resources shall be allowed for the documents available outside the Library premise. Users are responsible for complying with copyright act while photocopying library documents.
• Improper use of library facilities by a member will lead to the suspension/termination of his/ her membership.
• Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside library premises.
• Use of eatables in the Library is strictly prohibited. Utmost care shall be taken by all to keep the library clean.
• The College ID card should be presented at the time of issue. Students should get the items duly issued at the Circulation Counter and collect them in person.
• Reference resources such as reference books, text books, latest issue of periodicals will not be issued.
• Reminders would be sent to the users monthly for overdue items.
• In case of Loss/Damage of books, they have to be replaced within the semester end at user cost. If the user fails to replace the item, then 200% of cost of the book has to be submitted to Government through proper Challan.
• The library rules and regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be binding on all concerned.
