This Institute is a Central Autonomous Body under the financial and administrative control of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

The Institute is a Society registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 to impart hospitality education in Craft Courses and was formerly known as ‘Food Craft Institute (Goa)’ registered in the year 1967 and later upgraded to Diploma level in the year 1984 and thereafter to Degree Level in the year 2002 onwards to its present name ‘Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (Goa) Society’.

The IHM, Goa Library plays a vital role to serve the faculty members, students, and staff. The library open all working days except Saturday, Sunday and national holiday’s to serve readers with its rich collection of Books(5196), Current Journals(4), Magazine(15), News Paper(7), Research Project(350), CD-ROM’s(30). The institute library use e-Granthalaya(4.0) for library Automation of In-house activities and Online member services.
यह संस्थान भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय के वित्तीय और प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण के अंतर्गत एक केंद्रीय स्वायत्त निकाय है।

यह संस्थान सोसाइटी पंजीकरण अधिनियम, 1860 के तहत शिल्प पाठ्यक्रमों में आतिथ्य शिक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए पंजीकृत एक सोसाइटी है और इसे पहले 'फूड क्राफ्ट इंस्टीट्यूट (गोवा)' के नाम से जाना जाता था, जिसे वर्ष 1967 में पंजीकृत किया गया था और बाद में वर्ष 1984 में डिप्लोमा स्तर पर और उसके बाद वर्ष 2002 में डिग्री स्तर पर अपग्रेड किया गया और इसका वर्तमान नाम 'होटल प्रबंधन, खानपान प्रौद्योगिकी और अनुप्रयुक्त पोषण संस्थान (गोवा) सोसाइटी' है।

आईएचएम, गोवा लाइब्रेरी संकाय सदस्यों, छात्रों और कर्मचारियों की सेवा करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। लाइब्रेरी शनिवार, रविवार और राष्ट्रीय अवकाश को छोड़कर सभी कार्य दिवसों में खुली रहती है ताकि पाठकों को पुस्तकों (5196), वर्तमान पत्रिकाओं (4), पत्रिकाओं (15), समाचार पत्रों (7), शोध परियोजनाओं (350), सीडी-रोम (30) के अपने समृद्ध संग्रह के साथ सेवा प्रदान की जा सके। संस्थान पुस्तकालय इन-हाउस गतिविधियों और ऑनलाइन सदस्य सेवाओं के पुस्तकालय स्वचालन के लिए ई-ग्रंथालय(4.0) का उपयोग करता है।
BRIEF ON IHM-GOA

The Institute was formerly known as “Food Craft Institute” established in 1968 and upgraded to the diploma level in the year 1984 and subsequently to a degree level from the year 2002 onwards.
Institute is administratively and financially under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New Delhi.
Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida (NCHMCT) and MoU signed between NCHMCT and I.G.N.O.U. and J.N.U
The courses offered are as below :
3 Year B.Sc. programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - The total intake capacity in the first year is 400 in-take capacity.

Diploma in Food Production with 42 in-take capacity.
Diploma in Food & Beverage Service with 42 in-take capacity.
Craftsmanship Course in Food Production and Patisserie with 106 in-take capacity.
Craftsmanship Course in Food & Beverage Service with 84 in-take capacity bi-annual(42+42)

Presently total number of students enrolled are approximately 1500.

The Institute conducts free courses (students are paid stipend) as per the directives of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New Delhi namely:

संस्थान को पहले "फूड क्राफ्ट इंस्टीट्यूट" के नाम से जाना जाता था, जिसकी स्थापना 1968 में हुई थी और इसे वर्ष 1984 में डिप्लोमा स्तर पर और उसके बाद वर्ष 2002 से डिग्री स्तर पर अपग्रेड किया गया।

संस्थान प्रशासनिक और वित्तीय रूप से पर्यटन मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार, नई दिल्ली के अधीन है।

संस्थान नेशनल काउंसिल फॉर होटल मैनेजमेंट एंड कैटरिंग टेक्नोलॉजी, नोएडा (एनसीएचएमसीटी) से संबद्ध है और एनसीएचएमसीटी और आई.जी.एन.ओ.यू. और जे.एन.यू. के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं।

प्रस्तावित पाठ्यक्रम इस प्रकार हैं:

आतिथ्य और होटल प्रशासन में 3 वर्षीय बी.एससी. कार्यक्रम - पहले वर्ष में कुल प्रवेश क्षमता 400 है।

खाद्य उत्पादन में डिप्लोमा जिसमें 42 प्रवेश क्षमता है।

खाद्य और पेय सेवा में डिप्लोमा जिसमें 42 प्रवेश क्षमता है।

खाद्य उत्पादन और पेस्ट्री में शिल्प कौशल पाठ्यक्रम जिसमें 106 प्रवेश क्षमता है।

खाद्य एवं पेय सेवा में शिल्प कौशल पाठ्यक्रम, जिसमें 84 विद्यार्थियों को प्रवेश की क्षमता है, द्विवार्षिक (42+42)

वर्तमान में नामांकित विद्यार्थियों की कुल संख्या लगभग 1500 है।

संस्थान पर्यटन मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार, नई दिल्ली के निर्देशों के अनुसार निःशुल्क पाठ्यक्रम संचालित करता है (विद्यार्थियों को वजीफा दिया जाता है):

LIBRARY RULES & REGULATIONS :

MAINTAIN SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY/NO DISCUSSIONS SHOULD BE HELD

ISSUE REGULATIONS :

1. Students may borrow 2 number of books (maximum).

2. Identity card is not transferable.

3. Reference books will be issued only on submission of Identity Card by the respective students.

4. Issue of books for home reference will be done only if there is more than one copy of the particular book.

5. An overdue charge of Rs. 5/- per day shall be charged against each book not returned on or before the due date.

6. Overdue charge payment should be done at the cashier .

7. A book issued may be renewed only one time, provided there is no reservation against it.

8. No book shall be returned on the day of issue.

9. All books/magazines are to be returned by the end of every semester.

10. If a student loses the library book then he/she will be charged double the cost of the book at market value + fine/ or replaced by the student with a new copy + fine.

11. In case ID cards are lost, duplicate ID cards will be issued at the cost of Rs. 150/-. Duplicate ID card form can be obtained from the library


RULES FOR USE OF COMPUTER :


1. Computers in the library premises should be used for academic purpose only.

2. Online chatting, browsing of social networking sites is strictly prohibited.

3. Playing games on computers is strictly prohibited.

4. Changing the settings and display of computers kept in the library is not permitted.

5. Readers should not remove/unplug computer cables/ connections, network cables and other peripherals/accessories in the library.

6. No pen drive will be allowed on the computer system in the library.

7. In case of misuse of the system, a fine of Rs. 1000/- will be charged.

पुस्तकालय नियम एवं विनियम:

पुस्तकालय में शांति बनाए रखें/कोई चर्चा नहीं होनी चाहिए

जारी करने के नियम:

1. छात्र अधिकतम 2 पुस्तकें उधार ले सकते हैं।

2. पहचान पत्र हस्तांतरणीय नहीं है।

3. संबंधित छात्रों द्वारा पहचान पत्र प्रस्तुत करने पर ही संदर्भ पुस्तकें जारी की जाएंगी।

4. गृह संदर्भ के लिए पुस्तकें तभी जारी की जाएंगी, जब किसी विशेष पुस्तक की एक से अधिक प्रतियां हों।

5. नियत तिथि पर या उससे पहले वापस न की गई प्रत्येक पुस्तक के लिए 5/- रुपये प्रतिदिन का अतिदेय शुल्क लिया जाएगा।

6. अतिदेय शुल्क का भुगतान कैशियर के पास किया जाना चाहिए।

7. जारी की गई पुस्तक का नवीनीकरण केवल एक बार किया जा सकता है, बशर्ते कि इसके विरुद्ध कोई आरक्षण न हो।

8. जारी किए जाने वाले दिन कोई भी पुस्तक वापस नहीं की जाएगी।

9. सभी पुस्तकें/पत्रिकाएँ प्रत्येक सेमेस्टर के अंत तक वापस कर दी जानी चाहिए।

10. यदि कोई छात्र पुस्तकालय की पुस्तक खो देता है, तो उससे बाजार मूल्य पर पुस्तक की कीमत का दोगुना + जुर्माना/ या छात्र द्वारा नई प्रति + जुर्माना के साथ प्रतिस्थापित किया जाएगा।

11. यदि पहचान पत्र खो जाते हैं, तो 150/- रुपये की लागत पर डुप्लिकेट पहचान पत्र जारी किए जाएंगे। डुप्लिकेट पहचान पत्र फॉर्म पुस्तकालय से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है

कंप्यूटर के उपयोग के नियम:

1. पुस्तकालय परिसर में कंप्यूटर का उपयोग केवल शैक्षणिक उद्देश्य के लिए किया जाना चाहिए।

2. ऑनलाइन चैटिंग, सोशल नेटवर्किंग साइटों को ब्राउज़ करना सख्त वर्जित है।

3. कंप्यूटर पर गेम खेलना सख्त वर्जित है।

4. पुस्तकालय में रखे कंप्यूटर की सेटिंग और डिस्प्ले को बदलने की अनुमति नहीं है।

5. पाठकों को पुस्तकालय में कंप्यूटर केबल/कनेक्शन, नेटवर्क केबल और अन्य बाह्य उपकरणों/सहायक उपकरणों को निकालना/अनप्लग नहीं करना चाहिए।

6. पुस्तकालय में कम्प्यूटर सिस्टम पर पेन ड्राइव रखने की अनुमति नहीं होगी।

7. सिस्टम के दुरुपयोग की स्थिति में 1000/- रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा।
