About Library

Government First Grade College for Women' Balmatta Mangalore: Library is equipped with E granthalaya, A Digital Agenda for Library Automation and Networking – is a Web Based Integrated Library Management Software developed in National Informatics Centre (NIC).Library has a collection of 13,153 books. The OPAC (online public access catalogue) depicts the online library database of resources like books, journals, e-books, etc.

students can get access to any book titles from anywhere & at any time with the help of OPAC (Open Public Access Catalogue) and search the titles.

and also Students and Staff can identify the number of copies in the library, its location, and and then visit the library to get the books. It allows users to search books on parameters such as title, author’s name, volume, and keywords with mere clicks.

To support the Teaching and Learning Activities.
To assist all educational and instructional programs of the college.
To enhance the understanding of different subjects or disciplines among the students.
To create an awareness among the faculty and students with the latest up-dates in their respective subject area.

Library is “The place where knowledge resides”. Library is considered as the nucleus of a college. The inception of the library of Government First Grade College for Women' Balmatta, Mangalore concurs with the establishment of its parent institution in the year 2007.

Circulation Service, OPAC, Reference Service, Journal Back Volumes, Book Bank Facility, previous year question paper, free Internet facilities etc.

Library Rules: Prescribed application duly filled and affixed by a recent photograph shall be submitted to the library.
Membership is granted on the understanding that they legally bind themselves to return all the documents issued to them and obtain a ‘No dues Certificate’ at the time of termination of their membership.

Timing: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
